“My 15yo TWH mare suffered an injury, and after nine months of it reappearing at seemingly random times, I contacted Siv for an evaluation and assessment of my mare's movement. Siv spent quite a while watching my mare at different speeds and doing different things in hand, then sent me an in depth plan for getting her hind end back in shape. Siv worked with us to show us many different skills and tasks that we can do on our own, including proprioception work, strengthening exercises, and working on bending and lateral skills. My mare has improved significantly, and we have absolutely added what we've learned with Siv into our regular routines. I had wanted someone with gaited horse experience and knowledge, since too many non-gaited practitioners don't understand the differences in gait and movement. I'd highly recommend Siv for anyone with a gaited horse who is rehabbing an injury, needs to develop muscle/flexibility, or if you are stuck in figuring out what's going on with your horse's movement. My mare and I are both very happy to have worked with Siv!”

“If you own a horse, lease a horse or love a horse, it’s pretty much a guarantee that you, and your horse, would benefit from having Siv Watkins in your life. Siv has an amazing wealth and depth of knowledge of horse anatomy and body mechanics; she knows how their bodies work and, using a variety of modalities, she knows how to help them make their bodies feel better and work better. Siv is kind and compassionate, both with horses and their humans.

Siv will work with you to develop a plan, what are your goals with your horse? And then, while keeping those goals in mind, each session begins with an assessment: what does this horse need today that will help to reach those goals?

Siv is an excellent communicator and teacher. She will help you understand both the what and the why (and do it all in a charming British accent while occasionally dropping charming British idioms that will leave you grinning with delight).

Call her, your horse will thank you.

PS-I’m a verified purchaser/user. Siv has been working with my horses on a regular basis since early fall 2023. Both my horses, and I, have benefitted from and are grateful for having Siv in our lives.”

“My horses and I LUV LUV LUV Siv!!!! She is a gift to the horse world and we are thankful she is an integral part of our lives and for her wonderful contribution to our wellbeing. She is sensitive, gentle, non-intrusive, genuine, honest, funny, and really knows her stuff! We especially appreciate her intuition, communication, and allowance for choice in the work she does. Her work is soft & subtle and is never inflicted on the horse, but only offered if the horse is willing and receptive.. unlike so many other modalities of bodywork we have experienced. We love the work she does with us & enjoy incorporating what she teaches us in our daily routines.. supporting us move through life in more meaningful & healthy ways.”

“I just had my first session with Siv. I learned so much. She is helping me and my horse be in better partnership. The anatomy is sometimes not addressed in the ‘riding lesson’.. actually having ridden for over 50 years.. it never was addressed. Now I see how human and horse bodies can mimic each other and if you think you are an equestrian.. then knowing how human and horse bodies interact will improve your partnership and your riding. Siv is incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Do a lesson for yourself and your horse. It will elevate your riding.”

“Siv is a true horsewoman - she cares deeply for every equine she meets and is committed to their care on every level. She has a deep knowledge of equine anatomy and psychology and a Ph.D in biology. But her ability to support horses and sense their needs goes even deeper than science - she is a truly gifted healer. She also has an amazing background in wilderness riding and knows how to handle all types of horses intelligently and safely. I can’t recommend Siv and her work enough!”

Siv is an outstanding horsewoman! She's incredibly knowledgable and her passion shines through! Highly recommend her!”

“Siv is incredibly knowledgeable about horses. She has a great passion and it translates into great concern for every horse she meets. The thing that strikes me most (aside from her inherent care for every pony she meets) is her quick eye astute assessment of every horse she lays eyes on. It takes her about a half of a second to see and assess a horse. I have seen her (on more than one occasion) look briefly at a horse and then point out multiple things that are going on anatomically, from slight lameness to the way the horse is moving or holding its weight. I've also seen how well they respond to her body work and how much better they move after a session. I can't recommend Skeleton Key Equine enough!”

“Siv is one of the hardest working people I know. She researches and learns about a pursuit and approaches with extreme dedication. We expect nothing less as she has always set a high bar for herself.”
